Hi AVID! It was really good to talk to so many of you this week. I miss you all. If you have not yet met with me for our AVID Conference, be sure to set alerts this week and have the ZOOM information on hand before your meeting.
Below is this week's agenda with some adjusted due dates and some new items - please READ EVERYTHING!
1. Agenda 4-20 to 4-24 DUE FRIDAY, 4-24 by 11:59 P.M.
*Please note the change in due date. You are to fill in your agenda EACH DAY, listing each item due (be specific - "power notes" is not enough...which power notes?) and the date or day it is due.
*In your OneNote Notebook, in the "9th Grade" binder tab, complete the following:
A. Add a page titled "Agenda 4-20 to 4-24".
*If you cannot see the +Page at the bottom, click on any current page and that will allow you
to add new pages.
B. List each of your classes by schedule order.
C. Beneath each class, list all the assignments due this week - BE SPECIFIC
D. Next to each assignment, include its due date.
E. EXAMPLE:
1st - Biology
1. Read Chapter 12 and take notes - due Thurs, 4/23
2. Complete Power Notes 12.2 - due Fri, 4/24
2nd - AVID
1. Agenda in OneNote - due Fri, 4/24
2. TUTORIAL
The AVID program is offering optional virtual tutorial sessions via Zoom with our amazing AVID tutors. Starting April 28th, 9th grade tutorials will begin for those students who register through our SignUp Genius post. Tutorials will be held every Tuesday. PLEASE READ ALL DETAILS LISTED BELOW.
A. Tutorial sessions
1. Groups of three students per tutor – Zoom breakout rooms will be utilized to divide up students
and tutors by subject.
a. 30 minutes total per session.
b. 10:00 to 10:30 A.M., 11:00 to 11:30 A.M.
c. Subjects
~Geometry
~Algebra
~Biology
~English
~History
~Spanish
2. Students must bring a problem or concept to the session.
3. Those who are waiting to “present” will help the presenter, just as we do in class.
4. I will be present to monitor all breakout rooms.
5. School appropriate dress and behavior required.
B. Sign Up
1. To sign up for your session and time, go to the following

2. Deadline for signups: by noon the day before the tutorial
EX: April 27th at noon is our deadline this time.
3. Zoom link – the Zoom link for the tutorial will be emailed ONE HOUR prior to the tutorial’s start.
~There will be a meeting ID and password required.
~Emails will go through Aeries – be sure you have your proper email registered to Aeries.
3. Conferences - Don't forget!
Be sure to set reminders on your phone, in your agenda, etc. for your ZOOM conference.

4. College Research - Due Wednesday, April 29
A. Finish College #9 in your OneNote notebook.
B. Be sure you complete all 9 items - see your notes and your previous colleges.
C. I also posted the directions on our website under the "College" red button at the bottom of
the home page.
5. Community Service - cancelled
Due to our current and ever changing situation, the community service requirement for this semester has been cancelled. All students who have completed community service since January 21st will be able to submit it for extra credit. Details to come in May.
